Hi,

On a newly installed Hudson 3.1.1 I am trying to create a maven 3 build job. When editing the configuration of this job I see a button called "Add build step".

No matter what I choose in the drop-down from this button, nothing happens, nothing is added to the page.

Do anybody here have any ideas to what could be wrong or how this situation could be debugged?

Thanks in advance,

-dennis

Hi,

Have you tried to create a new 'freestyle' job or a new 'Maven 2/3 (Legacy)' job ? With freestyle jobs, we haven't any problem.
May you can try to edit your job configuration file (config.xml) directly to add your build step ?

Good luck

The job I am creating is a new "freestyle job". Maven 2/3 legacy jobs are disabled.

Typically I won't have easy access to the config.xml file, and it would also be somewhat more difficult to edit this directly I would think.

I think it looks like an error in Hudson, since nothing happens at all. Maybe somebody knows what should happen specifically, and thus how to debug this situation?

I can also mention that we have another (older) Hudson server that works fine, in regard to this button.

Do you have management rights? Can you see if there are any errors in the Manage Hudson -> System log?

Also which plugins do you have installed in your 3.1.1 instance?

Thanks,
Geoff

Can you try Hudson 3.1.2. Could be because of one of the bugs we fixed

Security is disabled, so I assume I should have management rights.

There are no errors in the System Log. Actually there isn't really anything in it: mar 27, 2014 10:34:52 AM hudson.util.CharacterEncodingFilter init
INFO: CharacterEncodingFilter initialized. DISABLE_FILTER: false FORCE_ENCODING: false

There are the following plugins installed:

JNA Native Support Plugin 3.0.4
Hudson BIRT Charts Plugin 3.0.3
Hudson Maven3 SNAPSHOT Monitor 3.0.1
Hudson Workspace Cleanup Plugin 0.12-h-1
Hudson GIT plugin 2.2.5
Hudson REST Plugin 2.1.2
Hudson Maven3 Plugin 3.0.3
XPath Provider Plugin 1.0.2
Hudson Downstream build view 1.9-h-1
Backup plugin 3.0.0

I will be trying out version 3.1.2.

Any other good ideas are of course welcome Smile
