Eclipse, linux and local users: how? [message #20637] Sat, 29 January 2005 07:10

Hi there

I've just downloaded Eclipse and I'm very impressed. It works great
right after unpacking it.

Still, I would like to install it in a way that all the users can access
it. The first thing that popped up on my mind was to unzip the package
into /usr/local/ but unfortunatelly it seems that there are some
annoyances (not able to install plugins).

So, what should I do to make eclipse available to all users? Is the
/usr/local approach the best one or is there a better alternative? If
there isn't, what steps should I take to make it work?

Thanks in advance
Rui Maciel
