When I run Eclipse it constantly talks to 209.128.126.120.
This address turns out to belong to Sun Microsystems.
It is doing something my network monitoring package
describes as a board roar. I cant afford the charges
to run an app that talks all the time. Can somebody
tell me what is going on and can it be stopped.

No I have just downloaded Eclipse and havent even opened a new file or
project.
I will Have to play around with it to see how it works but I dont want to
run it while it is using up my data allowance.

You can specify local copies of the source and Javadoc for the JDK
classes - that should keep it from hitting the Sun server to get the
Javadoc.
The Help can tell you how to to that, and this screencast might help:
http://www.rizzoweb.com/Eclipse/JDKSourceAttachment.html
By the way, I'm surprised to hear that people are still paying by the
byte for Internet access in a developed nation like New Zealand.
Surprising...
Hope this helps,
Eric

Thanks for the suggestion Eric.I have my source local and yes the docs are
pointed to Sun. But does this explain why from the time I open Eclipse to
the time it is closed, even in a PHP perspective with no open filles,It
continuously keeps my router light lit up like A Christmass tree. I admit
I dont know much about it and please correct me if I am mistaken but I
think that if it was accessing some docs it would eventually get what it
wanted and stop talking to Sun.But it just keeps on going for as long as
its open without me doing a thing. Thanks in advance for any help you can
give me.
In New Zealand we have had a monopoly running the ADSL network. We are
just about to unbundle the local loop. This will bring more competition
and hopefully lower prices or even do away with data caps.
Mike.
