Everytime i try to run eclipse (This was after tried to install some dumb
plugin) i get this error. I have repeatedly tried to reinstall eclipse to
know avail.

This is what shows up in the log:
SESSION 2007-05-15 17:03:54.539
-----------------------------------------------
eclipse.buildId=M20060629-1905
java.version=1.4.1_02
java.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc.
BootLoader constants: OS=win32, ARCH=x86, WS=win32, NL=en_US
Command-line arguments: -os win32 -ws win32 -arch x86

!ENTRY org.eclipse.osgi 4 0 2007-05-15 17:04:02.679
!MESSAGE An error occurred while automatically activating bundle
org.eclipse.core.runtime.compatibility (25).
!STACK 0
org.osgi.framework.BundleException: Exception in
org.eclipse.core.internal.plugins.

Any clue what this issue is?
Thanks Anna
(i have been using eclipse for years and i have never had any problems
until now!!)

Did you first delete the existing eclipse installation, or install to a new
location? It won't work to just reinstall to the same location, because the
dumb plug-in will still be there.

I deleted everything i could find. I deleted the previous install and the
crap it put in my 'workspace' directory too. Does eclipse hide stuff in
somewhere else?

No, just what's under the eclipse install root and the workspace.

But, I just noticed you're using a pretty ancient JVM (1.4.1_02, which dates
to Feb 2003). Is it possible that you installed something that put an old
JVM on your path? You really need to be running with at least 1.4.2. JVM
requirements are documented on the Eclipse download site.
