My experiences with Eclipse and 64-bit Vista [message #209992] Wed, 09 May 2007 20:53 Go to next message

I am trying to get Eclipse to work on my 64-bit Vista machine with mixed
results which I have summarised below.

1. Both 3.3 M7 and 3.3 M7 WPF install without any problems.
2. Both 3.3 M7 and 3.3 M7 WPF run without any exceptions or errors.
3. There are some display issues in the editor with 3.3 M7 where half the
editor doesn't scroll or goes black under some circumstances.
4. The Run dialog is completely broken with 3.3 M7 (no entries appear).
5. All functionality appears to work with 3.3 M7 WPF except for the display
of information when the mouse is rolled-over a method/class/field etc. in
the editor.

As a result of the above I tend to do my editing with 3.3 M7 to get the
rollover information and then switch to 3.3 M7 if I need to alter the Run
configuration. This situation is clearly not that acceptable.

Does anyone have any experiences with 64-bit Vista to add to this? Is there
a way to get better results? I have tried running both 3.3 M7 and 3.3 M7
WPF run in Windows XP compatibility mode but the results are the same.

I had this problem too. I found if I moved the vertical sash to the right
of the empty list slightly, they appeared.
