How to open a cached Editor Part? [message #207893]

I have a data object which has reference to the editor part. Now when i
close my editor part the workbench page closes it. now when i want to open
the editor part again I want the one from the data object to be opened in
the same way that it was closed and not a fresh instance of it to be
created.
Any pointers on how to do it would be gretaly appreciated.
