In the "Run Application" dialogue, you can create and manage run
configurations. Presumably, this results in some command string being
built up according to the configuration and sent to the operating system
when you tell Eclipse to run the application.

Is there a way to see what this string is?

There's a Properties command in the context menu of the Debug view.

Maybe there is a better way but I don't know.
