How to un-install plugins? [message #206121] Thu, 19 April 2007 14:41 Go to next message

Hi,

I like to play all kinds of Eclipse plugins. Now, I hope to get rid of
some of plugins I have installed. I use Eclipse on Linux machine.
Normally, I install plugins through Eclispe Help->Software
Updates...->Find & Install..

I am wondering if there is also a safe way to un-install the plugin.

For example, I want to un-install Omndo EclipseUML
plugin(http://www.eclipsedownload.com/index.html). I have opened "View
Installation History" and see a lot of files being installed. I am not
sure which file goes with the plugin and needs to be deleted.

Thank you very much.

Go to Help>>Software Updates>>Manage Configuration

Select the extension that you wish to uninstall, disable it and then
uninstall from the right hand panel.

I have been the place (Help>>Software Updates>>Manage Configuration) and
disabled the plugins. Restart Eclipse. Two questions remain:

1)I don't see anything related to uninstall from the right hand panel. I
am using Eclipse 3.2.2.

2)The diabled plugin completely disappeared. They are not shown on the
left hand side. If I want them back, what should I do?

Thank you very much.

To see all disabled plugins you have to select button "Show Disabled
Features", which is the third button from left on the bar under File.
I hope you get it right ;)

If you want to uninstall plugins (remove plugin directories), you can
select the plugin in the managment plugins, right click on it and select
the uninstall function...
