Problem with SVGs and GMF [message #206014] Thu, 18 September 2008 12:56 Go to next message

Hello,

I want to use SVGs for all of the nodes in my GMF editor. Unfortunately there is only a red box with
a cross shown when I run the editor. I know that a lot of people already reported this issue and
that this bug should have been fixed by now. So I am really confused that this problem is still
persisting ...

I tried to use GMF 2.1.0 and GMF 2.1.2., but I wasn't lucky:
I downloaded the Eclipse package 'Eclipse Modeling Tools (includes Incubating components)' which
includes GMF 2.1.0 and a few hours ago I installed via the Update Manager GMF 2.1.2, because I hoped
that this would maybe solve my problem - but it didn't.

For my editor I've overwritten the method 'createNodeShape()' in the 'XXXEditPart.java' (just like
the BPMN tutorial ( http://wiki.eclipse.org/GMF_Tutorial_BPMN#Custom_Figures_.28 SVG.29) told me to do).
As it didn't work I decided to import the taipan projects to see if the SVG that is used there
(box.svg) was displayed correctly. I got the editor running and everything worked fine - except for
the SVG (also a red box with a cross) :/

So I guess that I am having a problem with my configuration ... since even the taipan project didn't
show the SVG correctly.

There is no error during the generation of my editor and there are also no error messages in the
console or the error log in the workspace. Where am I going wrong? I would be totally happy about
every answer or hint which would point me into the right direction.

Regards,
Jessi
