Problem with Tutorial [message #19704] Thu, 17 March 2005 01:58 Go to next message

Hi...

I already try out the tutorial but unfortunately I get stuck halfway while
trying to create a new report. Maybe it is me but I found out that is
quite difficult to understand some of the instructions on how to drag a
column into a table from the Date Sets. I tried several times but once I
drag the column inside the table, my eclipse will hang and I have to close
and restart eclipse.

Another problem is that Data Sources is not updating after I insert a new
data source. I have to restart eclipse and only after doing this the data
sources will show the directory of the newly created data source. Am I
missing anything?

I know that BIRT is not yet a final release but I need at least make it
work.

Help please...

Thanks.

Ed.

Ed,

I've tested the tutorial in both builds, and found that it works. So, I
wonder if there is some kind of configuration problem. What version of
Eclipse are you using? BIRT has been tested with the 3.0.1 version only.
Which build are you using? Both the 1.0M1 and S20050314 builds work, though
some of the daily builds might have various kinds of problems.
