Web service client generation _really_ slow [message #204654] Sat, 17 November 2007 19:23 Go to next message

Hi, all

I'm using Eclipse Europa with, I believe, the latest WTP version. When I
change my web service class and regenerate the WS client code, Eclipse
becomes unresponsive and chews up 100% of one CPU for many minutes. Most of
the time it succeeds in regenerating the stub classes, but often it fails
with a (spurious?) out of memory error.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Any tips on how to avoid it?

Cheers

What are your memory settings. I've found that I need to at least set
the XMS and XMX memory settings to 256m otherwise, out of memory
exceptions do start to occur when using WTP components. It will also
help with some performance issues as it's not having to try to allocate
the heal space as much.
