BIRT (EPL) licensing [message #1240195] Wed, 05 February 2014 18:00 Go to next message

Hi,

I have been reading about the BIRT (EPL) licensing. From my readings I believe that I can develop apps (e.g. java) and am free use BIRT as an embedded feature. I can license the java app and release BIRT with it under EPL as long as I release BIRT source code.

Is my understanding correct?

What if I release a java app which uses the web viewer, but I have modified the viewer? Is it still OK to license the java app as long as I provide the modified BIRT viewer code?

Thanks for your help,
David
