exclude selection rectangle from adjusting scrollbars [message #201735] Wed, 02 November 2005 22:12 Go to next message

HI
If you are just dragging something around in a GEF editor,
the dragged object is represented as rectangle going with the mouse
movements. It seems that this rectangle is included in the calculation of
the scrollbars of the outermost viewport, and scrollbars are shown
when this dragging rectangle overlaps the clientarea
(which is somehow senseless since the scrollbars cant be used
while dragging). Is there any way to exclude this rectangle
(and the resize handles, too) from this scrollbar readjustment?

Thanks

You can auto-scroll while dragging. In the logic example, try dragging a
part close to an edge and hovering.

May be, but its against my prefered look and feel (I am
a Borland Delphi fan).
And a second point is, that all figures are resized
to fit into the client area so never scrollbars are really needed
(perhaps only vertical ones).
So is possible to exclude the selection rectangle
from the scroll area calculation?
