How do I "open defention" into an editable view? [message #201260]

I'm using CDT. When I right click an element in my code and click "Open
Definition" or "Open Declaration", it opens the declaration in a new view
that does not allow me to edit the code, or search for more declarations
from that view. How can I change this so that it opens in a regular,
searchable editor?
