HELP: Search without Modal - How-to? [message #1222120]

I've become very used to using search methods that don't require a modal dialog - such as ''use selection for search" key-bindings on Mac OS X ( ⌘E ).

How can I configure Eclipse to offer the same functionality, and then provide a key-binding to it?

I'm assuming that no response means 'it cannot be done' ?
