debug variables not showing up [message #1593] Mon, 21 April 2003 20:53 Go to next message

For some reason, when I debug my application, the debug variables are no
longer showing up in the variables window. I have all of the checkboxes
checked under the Java-->Compiler-->Compliance and Classfiles tab in the
classfile generation box. This used to work, so apparently I've done
something to mess it up. Anybody have a guess?

This is a bug. Close and reopen the debug perspective and it should be ok.

This was a bug in the later days of preparing for 2.1 but I have no
knowledge of this bug existing in the 2.1 release.
Which bug report are you referring to Yves?

Thanks

Any reason you have not moved to the 2.1 release where this bug is fixed?
There have been alot of changes since the 2.1 M5 build.

200303272130 is the 2.1 release build.
Are you sure you are seeing the same bug?
The debug variables come and go in the same class?
You are compiling the classes to include the required debug information?

Probably not because what happens is that i have jar files which i =

Most likely the classes in the JARs do not have the required debug =
information.
This is not a bug within Eclipse. You can recompile the JARs or request =
that the JAR providers include the debug information.

Probably not because what happens is that i have jar files which i =
download, instantiate them and while debugging try to see the values of =
those instantiated objects..Anyways i will observe this next time i see =
the problem.

200303272130 is the 2.1 release build.
Are you sure you are seeing the same bug?
The debug variables come and go in the same class?
You are compiling the classes to include the required debug =
information?
