In case anyone has missed it, with all the other announcments
and releases at Eclipse,
The Eclipse Web Tools Platform 2.0 [1] is now available
as part of the Eclipse Europa Release [2].
This release provides many new features along with improved
quality, adopter readiness, and harmony with other Eclipse projects.
Web Developers will be particularly pleased with the debut of major
new features and updates supporting Java EE 5 projects, EJB 3.0,
JPA, JSP 2.0, JSF 1.2, Axis2 Web Services, improved Server tooling,
and improved editing.
As always, much thanks to you, our community, who helps made this possible.

Hello David,
I installed wtp-all-in-one-sdk-R-2.0-200706260303-win32.zip on Windows
Server 2003 R2/SP2 with Java 1.6u1 and noticed two small issues:
1) In Help -> Software Updates -> Manage Configuration i cannot find any
JSF components/functionality.
I am quite sure that JSF items showed up in this place with
prereleases.
Is JSF functionality available nevertheless?
2) There is a misconfigured component beneath J2EE Standard Tools.
Under SDK for WebPageEditor a feature %featureName shows up.
It has the Copyright %copyright, the Identifier
org.eclipse.jst.webpageeditor.feature.source, the Provider
%providerName and the License Agreement %license.
Regarding 2) what steps would be necessary to correct this manually?

Hi,
I can confirm exactly the same behavior with the same all-in-one package on
Win XP SP2, Java 1.5.0_11.
It seems that the JSF features are missing in the package. Some of the JSF
plugins are available, but I am not sure if all of them. The user is able to
create a JSF-enabled Web project, but in the Web Page Editor the JSF
pallette is missing.
The issue is not recoverable with the Update Manager - it says that the
installation is up to date.
Also, if I try to download wtp-sdk-R-2.0-200706260303.zip separately and
extract it over the all-in-one installation, then nothing new happens.

About the JSF pallettes - it was my fault. I hadn't specified JSF Impl
library in the JSF web project. After I added the Sun JSF libs I can now see
the JSF pallettes in the Web Page editor.
About the missing JSF feature: I took a look into the last RCs and the
structure hasn't actually changed. May be this is the way the JSF team
decided to organize the plugins.
Franz, do you actually miss some JSF functionality?

As David Williams explained to me, the JSF issue is as to be expected
(functionality migrated into some JST package) and he has seen the
misconfiguration issue too (missing property file), but this is a minor one.

Hi,
is there any idea when graphical editors for the configuration
XML files will be available?
Similar to the ones in RAD.

Hello David.
What is the difference between the WebTools 2.0 and the (much smaller)
Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers distribution? What does one get with the
WebTools distribution that one doesn't get with the Eclipse IDE for Java EE
Developers distribution?
