My understanding is that this is not currently possible. Please let me
know if there is a way. If this is not possible, in your opinion how
difficult would it be to add such a thing and I would appreciate any
pointers that you could give.

Correct from a user's point of view i.e. if you use Eclipse out of the box.

That seems to imply that there is some way with an addition to
Eclipse. Is this a commercial package or is there somewhere I can
download a plugin?
