Hi,
My version of eclipse crashes annoyingly when I try to open a web.xml file
under webtools 1.5.4. I think what's happening is that it's crashing on
the license agreement dialog, because if I open the web.xml under webtools
2, gtk-eclipse 3.3 I'm prompted to accept the sun license and the xml
opens normally. So, for now, I guess you've got a 2.0 tester per this
1.5.4 crash, but I thought I should report this issue.
Anyone run into this one? Maybe there's a way to disable the license
agreement dialog to see if that's what is actually causing the crash. log
file in workspace/.metadata/.log contains no additional info, but maybe I
should be looking in a different log.
Thanks,
--Dave

Essentially the same problem here, triggered when attempting to
create a 'dynamic web project' for the first time, using:
Ubuntu 7.04
apt-get eclipse ("3.2.2-0ubuntu3")
1.5.4 webtools/JST installed from update mgr
JVM crash affects gcj-java, java-1.5-sun, and java-6-sun, though
each slightly differently.
More details here:
"eclipse crashes when spawning DTD/XSD license agreement
confirmation screen"
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eclipse/+bug/11630 0
Thanks for reporting that the problem went away under WTP 2.0 -- I
manually downloaded everything at
< http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R2.0/S- 2.0RC1-200705250432/>
and it resolved the crash for me, too -- I can create a dynamic
web project, no license dialog pops up, no crash occurs.
