Installing plug-in from command line [message #192149] Tue, 06 February 2007 11:07

Hi,

I try to add new plug-in to Eclipse 3.2 by using "extension site" option.
In order to do so, I have created sources directory of my plug-in with
necessary features, plug-ins and other files inside. I try to install the
plug-in using org.eclipse.core.launcher.Main from /eclipse/startup.jar
from the console. When installation succeeds, I get an appropriate message
in the console mode, and the plug-in does function correctly in Eclipse.

The problem arises when the installation fails. The message is not always
received, and even when it is, the cause of the error isn't specified.

Does anyone know how can I receive installation failures information?
Suggestions as to another way to install plug-in from console or java
program, are very much welcomed.

Thanks in advance.
