Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I am new to eclipse and I have
downloaded and installed Birt (I have read through the material and am now
ready to connect to the SQL Server and start using the Report Designer).

I have loaded the Microsoft JDBC .jar file but I am not having any success
connecting to the SQL Server. Is there anything specific that I need to
do to connect to SQL Server

This is what I am using in my Selected data source properties.
Driver Class: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
Database URL: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://server\\instance

Your time is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If you can post an error message/stack trace/log file/whatever, That
might help.

I found this link about the URL that might help:

http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5130678&t start=0

We may be able to help you with JDBC problems on this newsgroup, but for
problems with BIRT, your best bet is the eclipse.birt group...

Wayne
