Hello, the Eclipse community.
Yesterday I've bought "Contributing to the Eclipse" book translated to
Russian. I guess, it's the worst translation ever - the book is hardly
readable. I guess, it would make sense to create a "dictionary" that has the
Eclipse terms translated to other languages. Then the translators will be
free to use this dictionary to translate the book, people will have the
common vocabulary, it will be possible to include the dictionary in the
Eclipse books - this will simplify reading the documentation in English for
the users who learned Eclipse using one of the translated book.
For example, following words are not easy to translate to Russian:
Workbench, Workspace, Extension, Extension Point, Plugin, JDT, PDE, AST,
View, Perspective, Editor, Contribution, OSGI Bundle
We could use the bugzilla/this newsgroup to get the list of the terms and
then the users will supply the traslations (i.e. I could create initial
Russian translation and other Russian users will proof-read my translations)
