hi-
I have GEF and EMF installed, I put the necessary files into /plugins and /features, but VE won't run. Also, org.eclipse.jem and org.eclipse.ve are not showing up in feature details. If anyone can clue me into what else I need to do, that would be helpful. thanks

Do you get any errors in the .log file that indicates missing plugins? or
anything else that might be relevant to the org.eclipse.jem and
org.eclipse.ve plugins?

Also... which driver did you try to install? The 0.5.0 driver is stable but
runs on Eclipse 2.1.2.
The latest build (N20040113) is a nightly build and is work in progress
based on Eclipse build 3.0M5. The GEF and EMF plugins must be the ones
specified for each build.

You may want to double check the plugin directories in Windows Explorer to
be sure the files were unzipped to the correct directories. The zip file
structure for Eclipse SDK is eclipse\... whereas the zip file structure for
all others (i.e. GEF, EMF, VE) is features\... and plugins\...

Have you activated the plugins in your Product Configuration? In Eclipse
3.0 installing plugins isn't as straight forward as dropping the files
in the directory as it was in 2.x. Go to Help->Software Updates->Manage
Configuration. There should be a link there for something like
"Activate new plugins" that will enable the new features.

I had similar problems. I solved the problems by changing the name of the
folder where i installed eclipse.
It seems thats Eclipse 3.0 M5 etc registrates new features/ plugins only
after the path of its own directory changes.
This is strange but it solved the problem. I tried it several times. The
log-file says nothing.

I used the same versions and the same OS as Aisling Vasey (see above).

Hi

I did a totally new install of the same versions of Eclipse M5, EMF, GEF
and VE and then only started Eclipse for the first time and now the
plug-ins are visible and working with no additional configurations
necessary.
Not sure why this is the case but it works now.

Thanks
