I have read in SWT FAQ that it can be used outside eclipse for
stand-alone purpouses. But on the other hand in GEF some tutorial i have
read that it can be only used as a plugin to eclipse. Is it possible to
omit this ? I have investigated GEF from tigris but it does not support
SWT anyhow so that I am waiting for the GEF from IBM designed for SWT to
be completed.

Although I haven't personally tried it yet, I'm sure it's possible to
use GEF in a standalone app outside of the Eclipse IDE...
