So, I have this problem and need to look at the source code for a jar file
that doesn't have it's source included in the SDK source download (which I
assume is because including ALL of the source code would make the file too
big). I am following the instructions from
http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/build/buildInstructions. php. I am
behind the firewall from hell. Getting a port opened is like establishing
world peace. So I finally get approval for port 2401 to dev.eclipse.org,
but I still can't connect. The error message is

Connection refused: connect

I am trying to connect to :pserver:anonymous@dev.eclipse.org:/cvsroot/birt:

Any help would be appreciated.

Ed, you can also try our port redirection host which was set up for
those behind the Firewall From Hell like yourself. Connect to
proxy.eclipse.org port 80 for CVS pserver.

:pserver:anonymous@proxy.eclipse.org:80/cvsroot/birt

As an addendum, if you're also behind the Proxy Server From Hell,
causing grief for port 80, you can use the ViewCVS web interface. It's
slow and painful, but if you only need a few files, it will work:

http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/source/?root=BIRT_P roject

I hope none of these shortcuts detract you from your mission of
establishing world peace ;)

Thanks, this worked. Still wonder why the other wasn't, but at this point
I don't really care.
