Hi,

I'm wondering if there is an emf-based editor for database modelling in the
rdb project (or somewhere else). I tried generating an editor-plugin from
the model in org.eclipse.wst.rdb.models.sql, but the generated editor
doesn't seem to cope with the packaging structure -- I can only create
EAnnotation and Dependency nodes as child-nodes of a "Schema" node. No
tables, no statemens, ...

Did anyone try this before?

Thanks,
Carsten

I just noticed that it does work, somehow: you can create different models
(one for every table, one for every routine, etc.). Then you can use
the "Load Resource" option in the emf editor to reference all those models
and then use the property-sheet to set the tables, database, routines etc.
for the schema.

Not very convenient, so my question still stands -- is there a graphical
modelling editor?

Thanks,
Carsten

Not to my knowledge ... but, you should ask in the "dtp" newsgroup ...
or, at least monitor it and look into that project if you're interested
in future directions. Our "rdb" packages are quiescent now quiescent.
a far amount of the models in rdb "moved" to the dtp projects, but I've
heard they have a different UI.
