GEF Diagrams in a Multipage Editor [message #181991] Tue, 28 November 2006 15:41

Hello,

I am a newbie in GEF related area. I am developing a Multipage Editor.
This editor is invoked on double click of a Model element in a TreeViewer
on the Left Hand Side(LHS) of the workbench.

In one of the pages of my Multipage Editor, I have 2 Section on top and
bottom seperated by a SashForm, the "top" section is yet another
TreeViewer with File Elements in it and the "bottom" section part is where
I want to show the model elements of the LHS side in Graphical form using
GEF, with additional support of drag and drop from Files from the "top"
section to one of the figure in "bottom" section. I wish to have Edit
feature too. At the end the user can save the configuration of the
Graphical information into an XML file.

My queries are:

1. I haven't seen articles or piece of code that will allow me to display
GEF Figures in a Composite, other than some Editor which is invoked on a
File. Can somebody tell me how to invoke such GEF Figures in a View or
Section or one of the part of Composite within a View?
2. As I want to use GEF within my multipage Editor, is it possible to
integrate the Edit features of GEF with this editor? (I mean the save,
undo, redo feature of the Multipage Editor)

Many Thanks in Advance!
Jeevs
