There are many examples that work with the pre-Sirius version of the
code, which was code-named Viewpoint and available as part of Obeo
Designer [1]. If that's OK for you, you can get an evaluation version of
Obeo Designer (time-limited, but with no feature restriction) and follow
the included "Getting Started" guide. You can also find example modelers
at [2].

If you want to use Sirius itself (same code, but we know there are still
some glitches left from the large-scale renaming) you can get the latest
nightly from [3] and the latest version of EcoreTools [4] which is being
rewritten to use Sirius.

If you go to EclipseCon next week, we would be happy to give you a demo
and answer any questions there; just ask at the Sirius booth. There will
also be a BOF session on wednesday where we will help particpants create
their first Sirius-based modeler.

Thanks for you interest and don't hesitate if you need more details.

Pierre-Charles David

hello,

i am trying the "Basic Family" tutorial in Obeodesigner, to be more familiar with meta-modeling... to work after on sirius
but i am blocked in the "add a style to the node" section (i am using my own ecore model) in this step: (i am for this step in runtime as adviced)

To test this first diagram, right-click in the Model Explorer view on the Modeling project and select the menu Viewpoint Selection. You should see the new viewpoint Basic Family Design. You must activate this viewpoint to be able to create the representations which are defined by this viewpoint.

when i right-click i do not find the menu Viewpoint Selection ! should any specific file be selected ?

Thanks in advance,
Nawel

Could you please clarify:
* What "Model File Extension" have you set for your Viewpoint?
* Is there a semantic model with this extension in your Modeling Project?

Hello,

In the previous mail you say

> i am using my own ecore model

This file is a family ecore file or other one?
In the runtime you should have an ecore file (not a .odesign file) in
your Modeling Project.

Could you please clarify:
* What "Model File Extension" have you set for your Viewpoint in the
..odesign file?
* Is there a semantic model with this extension in your Modeling Project?
* Add one or more snapshots of yours "Viewpoint Specification Project",
"Modeling Project" and odesign file (if not confidential), to facilitate
the comprehesion of your problem.

Laurent

Hello,

It's difficult to see what's wrong in your projects. I would like to
propose to you to follow step by step the "Getting Started" guide as
said by Pierre-Charles. And, only after, try to make your own modeler.

Best regards,

Laurent
