newbie eclipse + cvs question [message #179532]

I am a newbie to both eclipse and CVS. How do I release a milestone of a
project to CVS using Eclipse?

The most current code base has all been committed into the HEAD already, but
before more changes are made to it, I would like to have then entire code
base frozen into a milestone. How do I do that using Eclipse? Thanks.

Are you working alone, or are you constrained (condemned) to CVS? If you
have a choice and are early in the process, I suggest (at risk of being
flamed alive) that you consider Subversion. It is conceptually easier than
CVS and can easily be integrated with Eclipse with the Subclipse plugins.

It sounds like you want to create a Tag (aka, label). In Eclipse,
right-click the project(s) and choose Team > Tag As Version.
You should read up on Tags and Revisions at the CVS Wiki:

Unfortunately I am not working alone. The project was inherited from some
one (not my rich uncle, because I ain't got one), and CVS is what we use :(
