Creating Macros or our own submenus [message #178544] Mon, 06 November 2006 06:37

Hi,

We all do a set of menu actions one after the other and we do them often.
For example when we want to commit our source to the repository, we all
first update and then we will commit. So these two options became atomic
for us and I would like to create a single Menu Item for it, like how MS
Office has this facility called Macros.

Can we create our own sub-menu or something like this which can combine
the operations that we want to do one after the other. I am sure that this
is possible by changing the source code or writing our own plugin, but is
this facility already available in the eclipse IDE?

I am using eclipse 3.2.1

Thank you,
Srikanth
