Page size on IOS 7 too big [message #1148285] Mon, 21 October 2013 07:52 Go to next message

Hi

Has anyone else notice that the page sizes are incorrect when running on a tablet with IOS 7. On android devices and (if I remember correctly, older IOS versions) this is correct. Please see the image attached. The buttons at the bottom are cut off. On Mobile devices this is not a problem.

Is this a bug? in scout, RAP, IOS or on my side?

Thanks.
Shawn

Hi Shawn

It's an iOS 7 bug, see here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19012135/ios-7-ipad-safari-landscape-innerheight-outerheight-layout-issue or here http://krpano.com/ios/bugs/ios7-ipad-landscape. Even gmail has the issue, if you scroll the page up you can see a 20px wide area.

Unfortunately we haven't found a proper solution yet. One workaround would be to patch rap and adjust the computation of the window height in case of ios 7 on ipads. I did that on our rap fork for the rap 1.5 branch, see https://github.com/BSI-Business-Systems-Integration-AG/rap/commit/c51db29953e451cf4b1ba975995a5a45ee4cf5b0. I haven't touched the rap 2.1/2.2 branches yet because I'm still hoping it will be fixed soon by apple... If that's not the case we should ask the rap people whether they could include the workaround. Or you may create your own fork.

Regards
Claudio
