Hi,

I don't use BIRT, but I'm interested in the chart-library from BIRT (or
TPTP?). I develop an application with benchmark function and would display
the results as different graphical charts. I found the JFreeChart Library,
which is basically for Swing or AWT. But over the AWT_Frame and
SWT_Embedded it can be integrated in SWT Apps. But it is slow and now I
search for an other solution:

Is it possible to use the library in a standalone SWT App (no eclipse
plugin)? Are there any examples or code snippets? which libraries need I?

Thanks in advance!
Bye
Gerrit

Yes, you can use the BIRT charting library in a standalone SWT app. The
library is made of plugins, but can work outside eclipse. Please get the
chart engine download from the BIRT site and look at the examples plugin for
SWT examples.

Thanks,

David

Hello,

i've just tried out the examples. The SWT Applications start, but
everytime an exception like this occurs:

"21.07.2006 10:09:44 org.eclipse.birt.chart.util.PluginSettings instance
SCHWERWIEGEND: Exception

"

Changing the argument before running like -DSTANDALONE as well as
-DBIRT_HOME=D:\ReportEngine does not make any improvement. Does anybody
have an idea what to do?

Thanks for replies, Daniel

Problem is solved,

I've made a fault with the Standalone argument... -DSTANDALONE works fine,

Thanks, Daniel

This exception has no impact on the good execution of the code,
setting -DSTANDALONE should get rid of it in any case.

Thanks,

David

You can try charting library like koolchart, Highchart, Google free chart to create interactive charts.
Thanks
