Hi,

After downloading plugins from Callisto in Eclipse 3.2, for Web
applications, J2EE does not show up as a perspective, and "Dynamic Web Page"
does not show up as a web project.

Please help.

How did you download them - with the Update Manager, or manually? If
manually, are you sure you expanded them into the right place?

Are there any messages in the error log? It's possible that one or more
plug-ins are failing to load correctly.

Thanks for responding.

1. I downloaded and installed a fresh copy of ecllipse-3.2 into Linux
2. Used the Help > Software Updates > Find and Install
3. Selected the "Search for New Features to Install" radio buttonj in the
Install/Update screen, and then clicked Next.
4. In the ensuing Install screen, I checked the Callisto Discover Site
checkbox and clicked Finished.
5. Then I selected one of the US mirror sites, like OSU, to continue.
6. I expanded the Callisto Discovery Site in the Updates screen which
showed a list features, among which I selected Web and J2EE checkbox. Then
I further clicked the "Select Required" button to satisfy the dependencies.
And then I clicked Next.
7. I accepted the terms
8. I clicked Finish in the next screen.

And the installation completes.

After restarting eclipse, I tried to look for the J2EE perspective, and it
is not there.

When I started a new Project, I could not find the Dynamic Web project type
(but the Static Web project type is there, under Web.

I do find 5 plugins with names beginning with J2EE installed in my eclipse.

I hope you will be able to help. Thanks very much.

Hi,

I fixed the problem. I happened to notice that there is the eclipse 3.2.1
release. So I updated my eclipse with it, and now all my previously stated
problems are gone.

Thanks for helping.
