I was wondering what would be a stripped down version of the workbench
before any plugins are added, what are the ones required ?
What can I use to have plugins in a swt application, I have asked this
in swt grp but no response, basically I want to develop a standalone
app that has custome config based on the user ?
Thanks

Don,
To get an idea of what a basic stripped down workbench is, try this.
start Eclipse with a new (or empty) workbench
File->Import->External Plug-ins and Fragments
Next
Select org.eclipse.ui
Click "Add required plug-ins"
Launch your subset of Eclipse using the Run-time Workbench launcher.
The Run-time Workbench that comes up will have just the Workbench (no
JDT or PDE).
You can strip the workbench further, see
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=29179
Hope this helps some.
