Hello,

I have written a generic server plugin which works well when the application
server is started and stopped by the WTP Server's view. Ideally, I would
like to be able to publish to an application server running on a remote
machine or to a server that is already started outside of WTP. To enable
this, I have changed supportsRemoteHosts="false" and set it to "true" in the
plugin.xml file. Is support for remote servers complete in WTP 1.5? I
notice that none of the included servers appear in the new server wizard
when the Server's host name is changed from localhost.

It appears that after I finish the new server wizard for my application
server after having chosen a host name other than localhost, there is no
attempt to determine the state of my remote server. It's state is shown as
stopped. I can successfully publish to the remote server but again its
state is shown as stopped and if the user chooses the start menu item (which
doesn't make sense for our application server on a remote machine) it will
try to start a server locally.

From looking through bugzilla the following bug appears relavent.

Allow detection of a remotely started server
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=102308

I am wondering if anyone can comment further on supporting remote servers in
a WTP Generic Server profile. I am assuming that this functionality is
perhaps not quite finished at this time?

Thanks in advance,
