Tribix Excel Emitter with BIRT RC4 [message #172006]

Has anyone had any success at integrating the Tribix Excel Emitter with
BIRT RC4? The reason I ask is that I'm having no luck getting the "View
as Excel" to appear in the Report Designer RC4. I'm using
poi-3.0-alpha2-20060616.jar as I cannot find alpha1 anymore (if you have
this older alpha1 file, please email it to me).

Here are the steps of integration:

1. Copied org.uguess.birt.report.engine.emitter.xls_2.1.0.200605221009
to the plugins directory of Eclipse.

2. Placed a copy of poi-3.0-alpha2-20060616.jar in the
org.uguess.birt.report.engine.emitter.xls_2.1.0.200605221009 /lib directory.

3. Updated EngineFragment.class in
viewservlets.jar/org/eclipse/birt/report/presentation/aggreg ation/layout
of
plugins/org.eclipse.birt.report.viewer_2.1.0.N20060531-1258/ birt/WEB-INF/lib.

4. Updated the PreviewToolbarMenu*.class files in
plugins/org.eclipse.birt.report.designer.ui.preview_2.1.0.N2 0060531-1258.jar/org/eclipse/birt/report/designer/ui/actions .

5. Started Eclipse with -clean option.

In addition, I tried to view a report as xls using the WebReportViewer
and while it generated a valid .xls file, the file had no data in it.
