when javaw.exe in windows task manager says eclipse is using 335,000K? my
command like to start eclipse 2.1.2 is:

C:\eclipse\eclipse.exe -vm C:\JDKs\jdk1.4.2\bin\javaw.exe -vmargs -Xms256M
-Xmx1024M

shouldn't this allow eclipse to use up to 1024M of memory? i have 1GB of
physical memory and 2GB more of virtual memory. i'm not even using all my
physical memory when this happens.

thanks for any help.

Grrr. I didn't read the subject. What exactly is the task manager
reporting as 335MB? "Mem Usage" or "VM Size"? Mem Usage (if I understand
it correctly) is only allocated physical memory.
