I quite bored in Eclipse User Interface
Why there is no Look and Feel Switch in it?
I just use the trial version of IntelliJ IDEA.
And just love the CTRL + ` to switch to another Look and Feel

Very beatiful...

Can The Foundation treat it seriously?

Eko,

SWT (the widget framework used to implement Eclipse) was designed to use
the native widgets of the underlying Operating System, so that the
program will look just like a regular application on Windows, OS X,
Linux, etc. That being said, the Presentation APIs in eclipse can be
used to customize the look and feel of the editor. Included in base
Eclipse is the ability to show Eclipse using the old 2.1 UI style
(Window->Preferences->General->Appearance->Current Presentation). Some
companies have used this API to do impressive things - like Lotus's
Hannover UIs -
http://www.edbrill.com/ebrill/edbrill.nsf/dx/hannoverscreens hots.html

But generally speaking, not many people are developing new presentations
for Eclipse. Most are just happy with the default look of the application.

Hope this helps,
- Jeff

I do some googling with "eclipse skin"
( http://www.google.com/search?q=eclipse+skin&start=0& start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=flock&rls=F lockInc.:en-US:official)

and found this : http://andrei.gmxhome.de/skins/index.html

From the website: "This skin does not only have all "default" Eclipse
presentation features but adds much more useful things like fully
customizable opened/closed editor lists, really useful tab area with
predictable tab ordering policy, clear and space - saving look, much more
customization options like the tab size / padding / border / color / fonts,
"on-the-fly" themes switch support without to "reboot" Eclipse etc."

I use it now.

here is the update site: http://andrei.gmxhome.de/eclipse/

I think it will be fun if there is more Eclipse Skin through out the
Internet!!!
