I'd like to share what I know about the efforts to find a leader for
this project. First, I'd like to make it clear that IBM is not looking
for a big company to run the project. In fact, IBM is in the same boat
as everyone else. We are waiting for the eclipse PRC to find a leader.
We are very eager to get this project active but the eclipse PRC wants
to get broader community participation.
Recently we were hopeful that Redhat would agree to lead the project but
that did not materialize. We have been encouraging some other vendors to
assume this role and we may make progress at EclipseCon. Although I
disagree that we should move the project to ObjectWeb, I think they
would be a suitable leader since they already support Eclipse with JOPE.
In any case, all any of us can do is to encourage suitable leaders to
come forward and make a proposal to the PRC.
