I'm new to Eclipse so I'm a little unfamiliar with this tool. I do the
front-end work for our application wich is developed in FlexBuilder 1.5.
I then have to do a package refresh (click on package name and press F5)
to pick up my changes and publish then to the Tomcat server. This is
where I'm having a problem.
It's taking 1 minute and 15 seconds on average to refresh the project. I
don't know what it's doing because there is no obvious feedback as to what
is going on. At the very end I see it's publishing to the Tomcat server
and then doing something with the Workspace, but both of these operations
take very little time (maybe 10 seconds in total).
What happens when I press F5, and how can I make it go faster? I need to
refresh my project a lot, and the total time it takes me, including
refreshing the web page, is about 2 minutes. That is unaccebtable!
As a side note, I've tried shutting down every other process running on my
machine, and turned off virus scan. None of this seemed to help, besides,
the processors aren't thrashing during this process... there's very little
activity at all.
My computers specs are: dual Xeon 3.06GHz CPUs, 2GB of RAM.
Thanks in advance,
Geoff
