Hi all

I've been using 3.1 on Windoze now for a couple of months and would like to
upgrade to 3.2 so I can use the latest hibernate tools plugin

Can anyone direct me to some instructions regarding how to install 3.2 and
then somehow link to all of the plugins and environment setup I already have
in 3.1?

I'd like to avoid doing a complete reinstall and reconfiguration if at all
possible.

Thanks

Matt,

There's no direct way to upgrade an installation of 3.1 to 3.2 - but you
can move your workspace(s) to 3.2, and that contains most of your
settings and preferences. The recommended upgrade path is to download
and install 3.2 into a clean new directory, then install your additional
plug-ins on top of that, then launch eclipse pointing to your old
workspace. It's also a good idea to backup your workspace before doing
this in case you need to go back to 3.1.

Hope this helps,
- Jeff

Keep separate installation directories for the different versions of
Eclipse. You can point new Eclipse to your existing workspace and it
will work fine (back it up "just in case"), but plug-ins will need to be
re-installed into the new Eclipse unless you've already installed them
into a separate location. Even if you did that, be aware that some
plugins may not work with the new version unless the plug-ins themselves
are upgraded.

Hope this helps,
Eric
