WTP 1.01 update site install problem [message #162987] Tue, 07 March 2006 02:23 Go to next message

I don't see this problem on the newsgroup so I
am assuming it's just my problem. Still, I don't
know how to figure out a solution.

I'm trying to install WTP 1.01 from the update
site. I start with a fresh 3.1.2 Eclipse on
XP Pro SP2. My JDK is 1.5_06 . Ultimately, I
want to install it to my working Eclipse copy
but since this problem occurred there, I made
the fresh install just so I could eliminate any
plugin interactions as the cause.

I've tried two mirrors and get the exact same
result.

So here it is:

I choose the entire WTP installation from the
wizard and initiate download. About 70% through
the download, I get an error dialog that says,
"Update operation has failed."

Now, pressing "OK" at that point dismisses the
entire update wizard so I have to move the dialog
out of the way to see what file was being down-
loaded at the time. It is shown as,
"plugins/org.eclipse.wst.html.core_1.0.0.v200602062131.jar."

It is always this file that is the problem no
matter whether I use my standard Eclipse installation,
the fresh copy, or what mirror I choose.

I've deleted all temporary files using the
Win disk cleanup utility between tries just
to make sure it isn't a local file system
access thing.

Any suggestions?

TIA,

-dub
