I love how Ubuntu users can "apt-get install eclipse", and Windows users can "chocolatey install eclipse-java-juno"! Could we offer a Homebrew formula so that Mac users can "brew install eclipse"?

Sure you can. Eclipse.org isn't involved with either of the other two, though.

Except that apt-get install eclipse is the worst, possible way to get
Eclipse. Never, ever do that.

What's wrong with the Ubuntu repo version of Eclipse?

For lots of software beyond basic Linux system software, the repos are
out of date. Canned advice by everyone in this forum, and this is the
Eclipse forum, right?, is always to get Eclipse from eclipse.org.

Yes, too true!

I'll ask the Ubuntu folks to update the Eclipse package.

bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eclipse/+bug/1215004

If we vote on this, they might actually do something about it.
