Can't configure JBoss 4.0.x [message #162085] |

I'm using WTP 1.0.1 RC1 and I've got jboss installed...and I'm trying to
set it up as a server. I choose JBoss 4.0 from the list, pick out my
'/opt/jboss-4.0.4' folder...and I see this at the top of the window:
"Missing classpath entry
/opt/jboss-4.0.4RC1/server/default/lib/activation.jar"
So, I tried adding that jar to the classpath, restarting eclipse, no such
luck.
Is this broken? I'm relatively new to JBoss and have built a few apps on
Tomcat...what am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

Hello V. Jenks,
Did you install JBoss from the installer-jar or from the zipped
distribution? If the installer, what server profile did you choose? The
point I'm getting at is that JBoss can have multiple server profiles,
stored in the $JBOSS_HOME/server/ directory. The zipped distro contains
three basic profiles: all, default, minimal. The webtools server
definition is looking for the JBoss libraries under the 'default' profile;
viz. if you specify /opt/jboss-4.0.4RC1/ as the server home, you'd better
have a functional server profile in /opt/jboss-4.0.4RC1/server/default/.
This isn't ideal, but it's what you'd have to do at this point to make it
work. If you have an 'all' profile or some other of your own naming, I'd
just copy it to 'default' in the server folder.
Sorry about the long-windedness of this apparently simple suggestion --
hope it helps.
