In a recent integration build, I did a rename on a field. I wss surprised
to see a new option in the dialog, "update references". Why would I be
doing a refactor-rename, if I didn't want to update references?

This option makes no sense to me. Futhermore, it should definately be
defaulted to "checked", which it wasn't.

that option was added in response to critical bug report:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=3905

the default should be 'selected'. i see it as sunch in 2.0 rc1.
if you see a case where it's not - enter a bug report.
