New Eclipse user, here.

Is there a read-only mode for Eclipse?

That is to say, what I'd like to do is open files in a project, look at them for a reference, but not able to make any changes in the file.

At my last organization we used emacs and I got used to the read-only mode emacs provides, hoping there is similar functionality in Eclipse.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

Try setting the files as read-only in your filesystem permissions and making sure the Team preference page has the option to "automatically make files writeable" off for non-shared projects.

That's it? PIty. I was really hoping to make this happen without mucking around in the file system.

Thanks for your reply.
