i'm hoping i don't offend anybody here asking for install help.

i've looked at the FAQ where it talks about installing. should i go the
manual or auto route? when i followed the link for the auto install i
didn't think the instructions were that clear.

thanks,
erik

Doesn't offend me. And, I hope I don't offend you! :) ... if I say that the key to getting good help on
newsgroups is to ask good questions. You (as should we all) might occasionally (re)read

For example, in your question its hard to tell what you tried, where you want to end up.
Most people that don't much care about the exact version, do well with our "all in one" zips
produced with our released builds. These only have to be unzipped to a new directory and
used "as is". See

I do hope this helps!

My goal is simple. I want to use WTP with my install of Eclipse. I was
running 3.1 and upgraded to 3.2M5. I read various pieces of
documentation on the WTP site and the install instructions were not clear.

Are there any negatives in going with the "all in one" WTP release?

Erik

For a 3.2 M5 base, all we have are "I-builds" and are not generally recommended
for normal use (unless you are extending WTP, or want to contribute with early testing).

The installation of these zips is basically just to unzip in the same directory where you
installed eclipse.
