wtp 1.0 and .deployables directory [message #159351]

It's my understanding that with the upgrade to wtp 1.0, the .deployables
directory would no longer be created. Is this the case? I'm using wtp
1.0 and I do see a .deployables directory in the workspaces directory
for the projects I create.
