Turn off validation for a folder? [message #158620] Tue, 31 January 2006 20:15 Go to next message

Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off validation for a selected
folder. We have a WTP Project for which we generate Javadoc
documentation to /docs/javadoc/ folder. Unfortunately, the HTML
validator insists on finding hundreds of HTML errors in the generated
documentation. Ideally, we would like to turn off validation on this
folder so that the "Problems" listing does not become cluttered.

This issue has now been added to Bugzilla by my colleague:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=125877

Maybe it is not a bug? Can anyone suggest a workaround?

It's certainly a good idea. I know in my projects that use xdoclet
merge files, eclipse marks the xml fragments as invalid files, though
there's no <?xml denotation at the top of the file. Since I currently
keep my xdoclet files in the WEB-INF folder, i wouldn't want to turn off
validation for the entire folder, just certain files.

Hi Mark,

I added exactly what you said (about XDoclet merge files) to the bug comments
some time ago. Maybe you should vote on it, up to now there was no reaction at
all :-(.

Best regards

Wolfgang
