Can someone provide a definitive description of the differences between
Subclipse and Subversive, it is not immediately clear what (if any) the
relationship is between the two plugins. This is based on a number of online
articles that I have read that lead me to believe the Subclipse is being
rolled into Subversive or maybe it was the other way around.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve,
Both Subversive and Subclipse just do their job. Using both of them you will
be able to work with SVN. But there are few differences, mostly related with
usability, extensibility and general way, selected by two teams:
1. Subversive is and "official" eclipse.org project. It means that
Subversive has all project infrastructure at eclipse.org, project plan is
synchronized with Eclipse development and Subversive is a part of
simultaneus Ganymdede release.
2. Subversive team actively participate in life of the Eclipse Community.
Subversive team memebers take part in EclipseCon, Eclipse Summit Europe,
other events.
3. Subversive provides easy API and reusable components for integration with
other plugins. As the result there are set of integrations with open-source
and commecial projects, which continuously grows.
4. Subversive provides support for different project layouts, cary about
trunk, brances, tags structure, etc.
5. Subversive has feature for features browsing.
6. Other minor differences - UI polishing, icons, few differences in
operations
Maybe Subclipse has some features better then Subversive - Subclipse users
can post here their thoughts, so you can see objective picture.
Selection of any of these plugins is a topic of personal taste. You can
download both, try and make your own choice.
Best regards,
Igor Vinnykov
